Virginia To Privatize Liquor

Reason.tv and Nick Gillespie explore the inefficient state-owned Virginia liquor system. The new governor of Virginia is looking to privatize it. Virginia native Prav Saraff, Owner of Washington, D.C.-based 1 Dupont Circle Wine & Liquor, explains that micro liquor and small local distilled spirit brands are virtually nowhere to be found in Virginia. The big brands have a huge advantage. In D.C. where the system is privatized, Prav shows one can find selections of all types–including a limited edition, $17,000 bottle of Scotch.
