The Old Mill Gold Rum
Old Mill Rum
“Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.” This is a fascinating rum, but the packaging would never let you find it nor buy it. Old Mill Brand Wine & Spirits hand crafts this rum off a family recipe in Aloha, Oregon. The rum is distilled and aged in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. The bottle is nice, but the label is not the greatest quality. We find the vertical cap label appealing as it seals off the cork finish, but as soon as we grabbed the bottle off the shelf, the label ripped, so handle with extra care when buying for a gift.
Old Mill Rum buys their rum from the Caribbean and then ages their rum further in Oregon to create a blend of two to four year old, barrel-aged rum. They have a number on their ad above, and they encourage you to call to say what you think of the rum. We enjoyed this handcrafted gold rum straight and we also made The Old Mill Smoothie Mojito recipe that’s on their website–and it is RUM-derful!
