Shaw Vineyard Wine
Small batch, exceptional handcrafted wine produced by extraordinary entrepreneurs is growing rapidly as the United States continues its economic transformation back to what it knows best: Entrepreneurship. The 24 hour news-cycle of corporations endless mismanagement and “out-of-touch with its consumer” attitude is creating opportunity for entrepreneurs in nearly every industry. Wine is no exception, people are looking for great wines from hard-working, dedicated entrepreneurial family-owned grape growers and winemakers.
Steve Shaw is one of the top entrepreneurs in the small batch, handcrafted wine world. Shaw Vineyards has exceptional wine. They make Red, White and Li Bella wine in limited production and they focus tremendously on quality, quality, quality. Steve Shaw and his son Steve Shaw, Jr. harvest grapes by hand in their own vineyards. Steve Shaw is serious about handcrafted wine, “no grapes used at Shaw Vineyard are harvest by machine.”
Located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, Steve Shaw has grown high-quality grapes for over 30 years, and decided to handcraft his own wine in 2002 with his own label “Shaw Vineyards” and in 2004 built a production facility and tasting room (see below for hours) on the western shore of Seneca Lake near Himrod, New York, USA.
“Extended barrel aging is a hallmark of Shaw Vineyard for all of its reds and some varieties of whites, such as chardonnay. Most red varieties are aged for a minimum of 18 months; some will remain in barrels for three years. Winemaker Steve Shaw believes that this patience can be rewarded with flavorful cool-climate reds that showcase their subtle flavors with balance and elegance.” -Steve Shaw of Shaw Vineyards
Shaw Vineyards wine is the Rolls-Royce of wine, it is handcrafted with passion and love. It is rare to replicate products that passionate, dedicated, and driven entrepreneurs create.
