Catdaddy Carolina Moonshine

Piedmont Distillers Catdaddy Moonshine

MicroLiquor LOVES Catdaddy Moonshine!

Catdaddy is damn good! And if you haven’t tried it, then you are definitely missing out. Even if you don’t like moonshine, you will def like this one. The bottle is frickin’ “cool as cool” and once you get one in your hand the feeling is an adrenaline rush! The price is sweet too–$19.99

Moonshine is best described as an illegally distilled corn whiskey. Piedmont Distillers, a small distiller (only 7 employees) in Madison, NC, produces this hand-crafted micro moonshine in authentic, small-batch copper pot stills. By the way, this is the only “legal” distillery in North Carolina. Moonshine is truly a micro liquor by its very nature.

Liquor snobs don’t consider this distilled spirit to be called moonshine if it is legal. Joe Michalek, founder of Piedmont Distillers, mentions in the video below that Catdaddy Moonshine is the same authentic recipe from the days it was illegal–TWO differences: 1. It’s now distilled legally in North Carolina, 2. The Distillers pay taxes!

So this 80 proof triple distilled moonshine made from American Corn is a private-batch family recipe developed by Junior Johnson. The Legend of Moonshine is pretty awesome–and most people don’t know about it. Piedmont Distilleries explains:

“Since the process usually involved driving the moonshine in a car or truck, bootleggers such as Junior Johnson would modify their cars to smuggle alcohol all over the south.”

“As Junior and others built cars to outrun the law, they became extremely skilled at racing. The cars were built fast and dependable enough to outrun the law, with strong suspensions that could slide around on dirt roads at night with no lights. The practice of bootlegging gave rise to some of the greatest stock car drivers on the NASCAR racing circuit.”

Why is it called Catdaddy? ‘Cuz, according to legend, only the best moonshine deserves to be labeled the “Catdaddy”. Catdaddy Carolina Moonshine is the Catdaddy of Moonshine. Deservedly so for sure!
